Kasaragod (Kerala): Owing to the delay in pass allotment, a bride and her family from Karnataka, who were to reach the groom’s residence for the marriage scheduled to take place at 12 noon on Monday, were stranded on the other side of the State border for hours. The pass allotment was delayed due to some technical problems.
The marriage ceremony was to be held at the groom, Pushparajan's residence at Mulleri here.
The bride, who is from Karnataka, could not reach the venue due to the closure of Thalappadi check post, as part of the COVID-19 lockdown regulations.
As the authorities did not let anyone enter the state without the pass, the bride and her family had to wait for long, well beyond the scheduled muhoortham for the wedding.
The groom and his family walked up to the border to find the bride’s family being stopped on the other side.
After waiting for long, the pass was finally allotted in the evening.
The ceremony was then rescheduled for a muhoortham at night.
