Bengaluru: The whole country is struggling to control coronavirus. The covid vaccine campaign has been launched nationwide since January 16 to control the pandemic. As a first step, the Corona Warriors and healthcare workers were vaccinated. Later front line workers like police personnel and department staff were vaccinated. After this, from March 1st, vaccination for senior citizens began.
A vaccination campaign was already launched for those who are above 18 years of age. However, the government has requested people not to come to the vaccination centre due to vaccine shortage.
But now the central government has distributed vaccine to all states and vaccine is being given to those who registered under 18 plus age group.
Karnataka has so far delivered 1,06,08,539 doses in the first 115 days of this major vaccination campaign.
Out of health care workers, 6,91,756 received the first dose and 4,49,183 received the second dose of vaccine.
Among frontline workers, 4,63,175 received the first dose and 1,80,28 6received the second dose of vaccine.
Among senior citizens (Above 60) 84,92,968 completed the first dose and 21,15,571 completed second dose.
Out of 45 plus years of people with comorbidities, 73,20,518 have received the first dose and 14,86,102 received the second dose.
In the state, 17,519 people have been given the first dose of vaccine under the age group of 18-44. Today, 6,737 people of the age group 18-44 received the vaccine in the third phase of the vaccine program.
