Bengaluru: As per Karnataka government's order, schools will reopen for class 10 and PUC students. Schools in the state were shut for the past nine months due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said that teachers have already undergone RT-PCR test and teachers above 55 years are advised to wear face shield. Only three to four classes would be held in a day, he added.

He also confirmed that SSLC and PUC examinations will not be held in the month of March.

Necessary precautions including sanitization of school buildings, installation of thermal scanner are completed. Students who have symptoms including cold, cough and fever would not be permitted in school and attendance is not mandatory. It is also compulsory to wear a mask in school.

Students have been already instructed on how to maintain the physical gap in school as well as on cleanliness procedures to be carried out before coming to school.

As the schools are opening after a prolonged break, school authorities welcome students with Rangoli. There are 2070 students in 15 PU colleges under the BBMP in Bangalore. There are 32 high schools with 2,190 students in 10th standard.

Classes were going on in online mode.
