Rain to continue for another three days in Karnataka. A yellow alert has been announced in many districts in Karnataka. Heavy rains are expected in the southern districts of the state.

Bengaluru: Rain has been predicted in almost all places in the northern inland of the state. Met Department's Regional Division Director C. S. Patil said that there was rain in only a few places in the southern inland and coastal areas. The rainfall in Raichur district was 7 cm, Chintamani 4 cm and Shirahatti 3 cm.

A cyclone in Bay of Bengal subsea area has ensured that Karnataka will be hit by heavy rain. As a result, rainfall is expected in parts of the country from 20th to 23rd of Oct and a yellow alert has been issued in the districts of Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshin Kannada. Rains are expected to lessen on the 24th.

Showers are expected in most parts of the Southern districts from 22nd -24th October. Heavy rains are expected in Shimoga, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Bagalkot, Raichur, Davanagere, Bellary, Chitradurga and Tumkur districts.

Heavy rain in Silicon city: Water gushes into Meenakshi choultry in RR Nagar

The city has been inundated with rainwater. Rainwater inside Meenakshi choultry in RR Nagar led to cylinders, food items and chairs to float in water. Cars in the parking area too were submerged. In addition, Shantinagar, Jayanagar, Koramangala, Majestic, Gandhinagar, Yashwantpur and Bhadrappa layout roads have been submerged. The underpass near Sivananda Circle is full of water.

The highest rainfall is in the Bommanahalli zone was between 29 to 90.50 mm, 18 to 71.50 mm rainfall hit Bangalore in the west, 11.50 to 80 mm in the south, 105.5 mm in RR Nagar, Yelahanka 7-21 mm, in the east 3.50 to 42.50 mm. M Dasarahalli received 12 to 22 mm of rainfall.
