Mangalore: A child born with seven fingers and without a thumb underwent a rare corrective surgery in Karnataka's Mangalore.
The child was born with a condition called polydactyly, also called 'Mirror Hand' in scientific terms.
The extra fingers were removed in a surgery that lasted about two and a half hours.

The surgery took place at the Tejaswini Hospital in Mangalore ten days ago and was performed by a team of doctors led by Dr. Bhaskarananda Kumar.
The team removed extra fingers and attached a thumb. The child was discharged from hospital following his recovery.
