Bengaluru: In a shocking incident reported from Karnataka capital Bengaluru, a youth allegedly murdered his father for not giving him money for alcohol a fortnight ago, police said on Thursday. Police have arrested the accused youth in the case, which has sent shock waves across Bengaluru. A police official informed that the incident took place under Govindarajanagar police station in Bengaluru 15 days ago.
However the body of the slain man was recovered recently from his house in a decomposed state. The slain has been identified as Basavaraja (60), who lived in Marenahalli under Govindarajanagar police station. Basavaraja was working as a security guard. Niladhar, Basavaraja's son, is an auto driver. A police official said that the father and son were living together in a shed in the area.

Niladhar, who was addicted to alcohol, was spending all the money he was earning on alcohol consumption, police said. Police said that on Apr. 10, the accused Niladhar came to his father and asked for money for drinking. After Basavaraja refused to give him the money, Niladhar was angry with him and had an argument with his father.
The argument escalated to the level that Niladhar hit his father Basavaraja on the head with a brick and killed him on the spot, police said. After the murder, accused Niladhar kept the dead body inside the house and locked it and fled from the spot, Police said. Police said that Basavaraj's neighbor informed the police after noticing a foul smell emanating from the shed.
The police arrived at the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police said that preliminary examination revelead injury marks on the body. A case has been registered at Govindarajanagar Police Station and the accused has been arrested, the police said. Further investigation into the case is going on.
