Karnataka redesigns bus seating to enforce distancing

Keeping the social distancing norms in mind amid the coronavirus pandemic, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has cut passenger capacity on its buses to 29 from 39.

Bengaluru(Karnataka): Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has changed the seating design on its buses to enforce social distancing.

The state-run bus operator has cut the number of seats on its Rajahamsa service by ten seats to 29.

These buses will have three seats in a row instead of four.

KSRTC has started operating buses with the new design on trial runs between Bengaluru and Mysore.

After six months of suspension due to COVID-19 lockdown, KSRTC has started operating bus services across the state. The lockdown has caused losses and the bus company hopes the new services will encourage people to use its transport systems.
