Karnataka CM unveils mobile COVID testing booth

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa inaugurated a mobile COVID-19 testing booth in Bengaluru. These mobile booths would start working in all wards of the Bengaluru to collect throat swab samples of persons suspected with COVID-19 infection.

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa unveiled a mobile COVID testing booth, said Health Minister B. Sriramulu on Thursday.

BS Yediyurappa today inaugurated a mobile COVID-19 testing booth in Bengaluru. He said these mobile booths would start working in all wards of the Bengaluru to collect throat swab samples of persons suspected with COVID-19 infection.

"Yediyurappa inaugurated COVID testing mobile booth at his home office. The mobile testing booth from now onwards will be available at all wards for testing," tweeted Sriramulu.

The booth is placed on an autorickshaw for easy mobility.

Reportedly, Kerala, a week ago deployed an indigenously developed walk-in sample collection kiosk to test patients with symptoms of COVID-19. The kiosk was modelled like one used in South Korea that does not need health workers to wear protective gear.
