Bengaluru: A private hospital in Bengaluru allegedly flouted directions given by Karnataka government to allocate 50 percent of beds for Covid-19 patients. An FIR against six hospital officials including its CEO, operation head and medical superintendent was registered at Puttenahalli police station based on the complaint of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) medical officer Nagendra Kumar of Bommanahalli Zone.

According to sources, a Covid patient under the BBMP quota was hospitalized on April 14 and discharged on April 20. However, the hospital administration stated that the patient was admitted till April 24, alleged Kumar.

In another incident, a Covid patient admitted on April 16 died on April 20. BBMP was informed that the patient was admitted till April 25. Relatives of the deceased paid heafty amount as hospital bill, as per the complaint.
