Chitradurga (Karnataka): Dealing with the problem of the homeless people, the Karnataka government has taken an initiative to provide accommodation to the destitute.
Under the surveillance of Mahadevayya the Superintendent of the Gonoor Refugee Center, Department of Social Welfare the Centre for Destitutes has been started at Gonoor village in Karnataka's Chitradurga.

Being the inmates in the Refugee Center, the senior citizens have started cultivating fruits and vegetables which they are selling under the sponsorship of the government.
This initiative also helped them to get monetary support for themselves because whatever amount the inmates earned from cultivation goes directly to their bank accounts.
The money will be given to them when they go out of the centre.
Not only that but this idea of cultivation changed the scenario of a barren hillock into a place covered with a thick green blanket.

They have made this barren hillock lush green. Varieties of crops and plants have been planted across the area.
Meanwhile, this noble initiative was taken by the government helped the homeless to live a life with dignity.
