Raichur (Karnataka): With what initially started as a small mill producing cooking oil on a small scale, the Swastya FPC Ltd has now three branches producing edible oil for the people.
The mill was established by farmers-only wellness producer company and helped by NABARD.
The NABARD promotes farmers to start their production companies. Through this, the company was launched in the year 2019.
Initially, a small group of 10 people has started the company and invest thousands of rupees each in membership.
Initially, farmers were producing oil through oilseed, homemade coconut, and peanut, the company has now started three mills in Sindhanur Taluk.
People from all over the state come to buy oil from the mill because of the good quality.
The oil is now being shipped directly to people who order it online at the Farmers' own company brand.
The company currently earns a profit of around Rs 15 lakh and the oil is in high demand. In addition, farmers have raised 18 Gyr cattle. Through which, they make cow milk-based products.
