Bangalore University prof Dr G Nanjundan found dead in his residence

Bangalore University Professor Dr G Nanjundan, translating the works of Kannada literary writer, UR Ananthamurthy into Tamil, died under suspicious circumstances at his residence on Sunday.

Bengaluru: Bangalore University Professor Dr G Nanjundan, who was translating the works of Kannada literary writer, UR Ananthamurthy into Tamil, died under suspicious circumstances at his residence on Sunday.

His body was found in a decomposed state at his residence at Nagadevanahalli near Kengeri.

A section assistant went to Nanjundan's house since he did not come to VV from past 4 days.

Since the door was not open, the assistant informed the matter to Nanjundan's wife in Tamil Nadu.

She returned to find that the nobody answered the door following which she informed the Kengeri police.

Nanjundan's body was found in a state of decay when police opened the door.

Preliminary investigation suggests Nanjundan died of a heart attack.

The exact cause of death will be known only after post mortem, the police informed.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that Nanjundan is likely to have died of a heart attack. The exact cause of death will be known only after the post mortem examination of the body, police said
