Bengaluru (Karnataka): The central disciplinary committee of the BJP on Friday issued a show-cause notice to rebel Vijayapura City MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal for embarrassing the Karnataka government.
The notice comes in the wake of series of public statements by Yatnal against chief minister BS Yediyurappa and the party-state leadership on issues ranging from the Lingayat quota and denying ministerial berths to loyal party leaders and cadre in favour of the “outsiders' and losing MLA candidates.
The notice issued to Yatnal suggested that he has to respond to the notice within the next two weeks as to why action should not be taken against him.
Yatnal reacted when asked about the notice and said he had received no notice yet. "I have not received any notice from BJP High Command till now. I will give clarification after receiving the notice copy. I don't care for anything. I am for the truth. Sathya Meva Jayate. I never ask for an apology."
