Bengaluru (Karnataka): Authorities on Tuesday sealed an apartment in the Vasanthapura area in the city after the residents, a mother-daughter duo who had recently returned from the United Kingdom, tested positive for the new coronavirus strain.
As a precautionary measure, BBMP has sealed the apartment for the next 28 days and sanitized the area.
The other residents of the apartment building refused to quarantine after they tested negative for the virus. In order to keep the situation under control, the BBMP sealed the whole building and insisted that the residents contact the BBMP to get essential items.

In the meanwhile, a resident of JP Nagar, who also returned from the UK has tested positive for the new strain of coronavirus. To prevent the spread of the virus, BBMP has sealed the building and is testing the other apartment residents.
BBMP planned to send the apartment residents to quarantine centre, but the residents resisted the move. So the BBMP reversed its decision and sealed the whole building.
