Mysuru: A social worker along with the municipality staff has been performing the last rites of hundreds of COVID victims in Karnataka.
Ayub Ahmed, who operates a hearse in Mysuru, has been involved in 700 funerals of Covid victims in the past month. He said most of the fatalities appear to be in the 30-50 age group.
Speaking to ETV Bharat Ahmed said, in the first wave, people were cured after 15 or 20 days, but in the second wave infected people are losing their lives in 30 minutes.
Ahmed has arranged the last rites of about 16,000 people in more than 20 years of service.
