Two youths drown in Ganga in Jharkhand

The two youths were taking bath in the river when they were dragged deep into the river apparently by the strong current. Reportedly, the duo did not know how to swim following which they were unable to come to the riverbank.

Sahibganj (Jharkhand): In a tragic incident, two youths drowned while taking bath in Ganga river near Sahibganj in Jharkhand on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Amit Choudhury and Raushan Choudhury of the same locality.

According to sources, the two youths were taking bath in the river when they were dragged deep into the river apparently by the strong current. Reportedly, the duo did not know how to swim following which they were unable to come to the riverbank.

Their bodies were fished out by the fire brigade personnel who rushed to the spot and carried out a search operation. Though they were immediately admitted to a hospital, they were declared “dead” by the doctors, sources said.

Reportedly, police have reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
