The fate of this village in Jharkhand is being altered by its residents, who have decided to change its status of connectivity. The village which abodes around a thousand people in about 200 houses, chipped in together, collecting enough fund for the construction of the roads.

Deoghar: Frustrated with the lack of road connectivity and official apathy, the villagers of Siyatand village have decided to lay their road.

Siyatand village, only at a distance of 10 km from Deoghar, was disconnected from the rest of the world, due to the lack of proper roads, since the time of independence.

When the administration did not take heed of their concern, the villagers of Siyatand decided to take the matter in their own hands.

The village which abodes around a thousand people in about 200 houses, chipped in together, collecting enough fund for the construction of the roads.

"Our biggest concern is the lack of road connectivity. We collected around Rs 200 from each house for the construction of roads and decided to put in our efforts in the formation of the roads," Janardan Yadav, a local told ETV Bharat.

"Outsiders don't want marry our bachelors and bachelorettes. Patients, especially pregnant women, cannot be taken to the hospital immediately and students find it difficult to travel to their schools and colleges," informed Navindra Kumar, when asked about the repercussions due to the absence of roads.

Additionally, many people have got seriously injured while travelling on battered roads.

Taking the cognizance of their problem, when ETV Bharat conveyed it to the Deputy Commissioner, Deoghar, Nancy Sahay said that the concerned authorities will make an estimate shortly and will start working in connecting the village with the main road.
