Medininagar: A Maoist leader, wanted in several cases of arson and violence in Bihar and Jharkhand, was arrested on Thursday during a raid in Palamu district, police said.
Arundev Sharma, the commandant of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), said Vijay Yadav alias Jalebi Yadav was apprehended in a joint operation with the Palamu police.
"We had information that Yadav was seen in Harihargang police station area. He did not resist when we arrested him," Sharma told PTI, adding that, the senior police officers are interrogating him.
Yadav, a resident of Hurmeth village in Bihar's Gaya district, was a member of a CPI(Maoist) squad led by self-styled commanders Naval and Abhijit.
