Sahibganj (Jharkhand): In an unfortunate incident, a boat carrying 13 people capsized in the Ganges at Jharkhand's Sahibganj. Following the incident, the search and rescue teams deployed by the administration managed to save 12 lives, whereas one person is still missing. As per reports, the mishap took place on Monday, when the cattle herders were on their way back on a boat loaded with fodder. It is believed that the boat was overloaded and sank due to the surging flood waters.
DC Ramniwas Yadav said that the people from Talbana village had gone to a nearby settlement by boat to get fodder. While returning with cattle feed, their boat got hit by the floodwaters and as the boat was loaded with animal feed and 13 persons, led to the mishap . Apart from the local administration, the NDRF team has been called for relief and rescue work.
