New Delhi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das met Union Minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi on Thursday. He discussed the forest clearance projects related to the state. He also met Union HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal regarding the same.
Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javedkar discussed several issues related to the state with Das.
The Central government will release ₹4,046 crores within one week under the CAMPA (Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority) Act for works related to forest development in the state.
The ministry has also given consent to include Swarnrekha and Damodar in Central government's plan to develop catchment areas of major rivers.
Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank agreed to grant a subsidy through the central government for the establishment of a Sanskrit University in the state.
The state government will bring a bill regarding the establishment of the university in this monsoon session in Deoghar.
The Union government has also agreed to open campus of Madhya Pradesh (Amarkantak) Tribal University in Jharkhand.
