Dumka: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP leader Babulal Marandi on Saturday demanded resignation of CM Hemant Soren, referring to rape allegation against him.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Marandi said that Hemant Soren should resign on moral ground and order a CBI inquiry.
Babulal Marandi said that in 2013 a young woman had filed a report against CM Hemant Soren and another person Suresh Nagre making serious allegations in the court.
After this, she withdrew the case citing marriage and not fighting the case. On December 8, 2020, the same woman again filed an application in the Bandra police station and made a charge against CM Hemant Soren.
Babulal Marandi stated that this is a very serious matter and Chief Minister Hemant Soren should resign and get himself investigated by the CBI.
Recently, NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma wrote to Maharashtra Director General of Police seeking a detailed action taken report of the case, which was filed in 2013.
