Shopian: Unidentified gunmen shot and injured a civilian in Chadran Ahgam in South Kashmir's Shopian on Wednesday. The civilian has been identified as Farooq Ahmed Sheikh. He was injured on his leg and has been shifted to hospital, said Kashmir Zone police. They further stated that his condition is stable.

According to sources, unidentified gunmen called out a resident of Chadran Kegam outside his house and shot him at close range, injuring him. The family members rushed him to Pulwama District Hospital with the help of locals where he is undergoing treatment. Farooq works as a labourer in cold storage in Pulwama's Lasipura. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation immediately after the attack on Farooq.
