Three LeT OGWs arrested in grenade attack on Langate CRPF camp

Three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were apprehended by Jammu and Kashmir police for their alleged connection with grenade attack on Central Reserve Police Force on August 16 evening.

Kupwara: Three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were arrested for their alleged involvement in a grenade attack on the Central Reserve Police Force on August 16 evening in north Kashmir district of Kupwara. Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, Jamsheed Ahmad Shah, Javed Ahmad Khan were arrested. Arms and ammunition were recovered from the trio.

A joint cordon and search operation was launched by forces including 30 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group. A tip-off from Ishfaq led to the arrest of Jamsheed and Javed. Further interrogation revealed that all three OGWs were associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba Tanzeem, supporting militant activities.

Sources said they accepted their involvement in the grenade attack incident at Langate on August 16. They have been booked under the Indian Penal Code's Section 307 and Explosive Substances Act Section 3/4.
