Soldier killed in accidental firing in J&K's Kupwara

A jawan of 8 Jat regiment died when his service rifle accidentally went off while he was cleaning it. A police case has been registered.

Srinagar: A soldier died on Friday in accidental firing in J&K's Kupwara district.

Police said Havaldar Rakesh Kumar of 8 Jat regiment was critically injured when his service rifle went off accidentally while he was cleaning it.

He was immediately shifted to army's hospital in Drugmulla area where he was declared brought dead, police said.

Police has registered a case.
