Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir): The funeral of the three BJP workers, who were shot dead by terrorists in South Kashmir's Kulgam district, was conducted at their ancestral graveyard on Friday.
BJP workers Fida Hussain Itoo, Umer Hajam, and Umer Rashid Beigh were shot dead by terrorists in YK Pora area of Kulgam district late on Thursday evening. All three deceased were residents of Kulgam. Itoo was the General Secretary of the Kulgam unit of the Yuva Morcha
The bodies of the three deceased were kept overnight at the Emergency Hospital in Qazigund.
Following the autopsy today morning, the bodies of the deceased were buried in their ancestral graveyard.
Scores of people were present at the funeral prayers, held amid an atmosphere of grief and anger. However, no BJP leader reportedly attended the last rites.
Earlier yesterday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha strongly condemned the killing of the three political workers, and said the perpetrators of violence are the enemies of humanity and such cowardly acts cannot be justified.
He also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
