Pulwama encounter: 2 soldiers, 1 terrorist killed in Pulwama gunfight

Pulwana: Two soldiers were martyred and three others injured in a gunfight between terrorists and security forces in Ratnipora area in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir which broke out early morning on Tuesday, sources said.

As per the sources, one terrorist is also believed to be killed. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Ratnipora area of Pulwama in south Kashmir during the night following specific information about the presence of militants there, a police official said. He said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants fired on the forces who retaliated. The area has been cordoned off and further details were awaited. Earlier, five terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizb-ul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter that took place in Kulgam on Sunday.
