Srinagar: With the Indian Army receiving 'confirmed intelligence inputs' over a possible terror attack in the Kashmir valley, the district administration of Srinagar instructed the National Institute of Technology (NIT) to suspend all classes till further notice.
A notification has been issued by Registrar of the National Institute of Technology Hazrat Bill Srinagar, which has ordered that all teaching activities to be stopped till the next instruction.
In a notice, the institute also informed that state administration has arranged transport facilities to ferry the students out of the campus.
Besides, the students from other states are expected to be ferried to Jammu and then to their respective places.
This comes after Chinar Corps Commander Lt General K J S Dhillon in a press conference claimed that Pakistan Army is involved in terrorism in Kashmir, especially targeting to disrupt the Amarnath yatra.
The Indian Army had also issued a security advisory urging the people to return home 'as soon as possible.'
On August 1, over 280 companies of security forces, mostly CRPF personnel, were deployed in vulnerable points in the city and other parts of the Kashmir valley.
All major entry and exit points of the city have been taken over by the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) with a token presence of local police.
