Srinagar: Local newspapers in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for the first time published positive government advertisement about the modifications in Article 370.
The advertisement carried out in the newspapers were related to tourism, education, healthcare, investment, job opportunities and rules for land owners in the wake of divison of states into union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The facilities and benefits available for the people of the valley were mentioned in details after the modifications made in Article 370.
Although the administration has taken the initiative to convey the information but due to restrictions imposed by the government the newspaper circulation is less.
Several restrictions were imposed in Jammu and Kashmir last month after the government modified some provisions of Article 370. However, the administration is lifting restrictions in a phased manner.
The landline telephone services have been restored in most places across the valley in view of the improving situation.
The mobile services and internet, including BSNL's broadband and private leased-line internet, remained snapped since 5 August after the centre announced its decision of modification in Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 of the Constitution and reorganised the state into two union territories.
