Srinagar (Jammu Kashmir): The Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar has admitted to a security lapse in the Sopore militant attack.
In the attack, two councillors and a policeman were killed in Sopore area in Baramulla district on Monday.
Kumar's comment came at the wreath-laying ceremony for the police officer killed in the attack.

He said the four personal security officers present at the spot could have retaliated and killed the militants. The officers have been suspended.
He also said the Municipal Committee chairman of Sopore did not inform the police about the meeting it was holding.

Kumar said an overground worker or (OGW) who was identified as Aashiq Pandith has been arrested.
Pandith revealed that LeT militant Mudasir had planned the attack. Police said the militants will be captured or killed soon.
