Avantipora (Jammu & Kashmir): The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Victor Force in South Kashmir, Resham Bali on Sunday said that District Development Council (DDC) polls will be held in a peaceful manner.
He said that the security situation in South Kashmir was better and the army is fully prepared to face any possible situation.
Speaking to the media persons after attending a cultural programme at Awantipora, Bali said, "Reasonable security arrangements have been made in South Kashmir for the DDC elections and people will take part in these elections."
"Don't worry, the elections will be well-organized and the people will be more involved in these elections," he said.
Talking about the surrender policy, he said that the army has been committed to bring the youth of Kashmir into the mainstream and so far more than six youths have surrendered.
He said that many more youths who did not want to be named surrendered and the army is ready to help the Kashmiri youth in any way possible.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for the eight-phase District Development Council polls set to begin on 28 November, and mainstream parties are rushing to organise campaigns amid COVID-19.
