Jammu: A Central Reserve Police Force soldier shot his wife dead before turning the gun on himself in Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.
Madan Singh opened fire after a heated argument with his family. His sister-in-law managed to escape, sources in the CRPF said.
"He also shot at his sister-in-law who was injured but survived miraculously. The eight-year-old daughter of the couple who was present when the incident took place is safe, sources said.

Singh was posted at the CRPF headquarters in Jammu division. Police and the CRFP are conducting separate investigations into the shooting, reports said.
