Solan (Himachal Pradesh): Shimla-Solan national highway 5 was jammed for over 12 hours after a landslide near Kyari Bangla area caused by the road-construction work of four-lane from Parwanoo to Shimla.
According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project director SK Sharma, the incident took place around 8 pm on Monday when due to the landslide a crack appeared on the road. Following the incident, the movement of vehicles was suspended for hours.

While speaking to ETV Bharat, SDM Kandaghat Sanjeev Dhiman said, "Several cases of landslides were reported from the road construction zone amid the monsoon, however, this time the road had a deep crack due".
Dhiman said, "Our first priority is to open the road as soon as possible."
However, vehicles started moving on link roads to their respective destinations, Dhiman added.
Vehicles have been sent through Kandaghat to village Senj and Malaga to maintain the traffic, while, trains coming from Rohru, Chaupal, Kotkhai can go to Solan via Gumma Bridge.
Dhiman said that people can go to Kandaghat from Shimla via Solan-Kyari Bangla, besides, they can also choose Sadhupul Via Dega Mara to go from Solan to Shimla.
