Palampur (Himachal Pradesh): Scientists of CSIR-IHBT, Palampur in Himachal Pradesh have developed a new brand of lipsticks made from vegetables which according to them is a harmless product.
Being concerned about the fact that most of the cosmetic products in the market are made of chemicals, scientists of CSIR-IHBT have devised a technique through which they can prepare this lipstick.

This lipstick will be made from black cabbage, beetroot, black carrots, which will give a natural lipstick tier of pink, maroon, purple, orange and red.
CSIR-IHBT wishes to bring this product into the market soon so that it can be made a strong choice among the chemical-rich cosmetics dominating market.
As women are always concerned about their appearance and lipstick is among those products which have high demand, the consumers have no choice except chemically riched cosmetics. As a result, they have to face a lot of health issues.

Director of CSIR-IHBT, Dr Sanjay Kumar said, "Nowadays, synthetic products have been used by most of the consumers which are very harmful to their health. Keeping all these things in mind, the institute has prepared herbal lipsticks with natural colours and nothing has been used in the lipstick that are harmful to health. Companies are in talks to bring this lipstick to the market soon."
Dr Pamita, one of the scientists in the institute, said that the natural colours we have extracted from vegetables, we can use them in foods and with these natural colours we have prepared herbal lipsticks.
