Kullu: The higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh's Kullu experienced heavy snowfall during the last 24 hours, while the State Meteorological department forecast rain or snowfall at several places in the coming days.
A cold wave has gripped the high altitude areas of Manali and Kullu. These two tourist towns also received mild snowfall during the night by the accompanying rain.
Many bus routes were also affected due to the inclement weather. However, there was no report of any major damage caused due to rain and snowfall.
Meanwhile, Kullu, Deputy Commissioner, Dr Richa Verma said that the road will be cleared soon and advised people to avoid venturing into snow-prone areas.
She said, "Heavy snowfall and rainfall are likely to continue on Saturday and the weather will clear up from Sunday till December 17. Due to inclement weather, people and tourists of district Kullu should take precautions. Tourists should not go to the high altitude areas to see snowfall."
