Shimla: The state-run Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) on Wednesday will partially resume its interstate bus service which was suspended in March to contain COVID-19 spread.
However, only non-AC bus services will be resumed now. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the minister for transport Bikram Singh said the interstate bus service will be resumed on 25 routes in the first phase.
These routes include Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Ludhiana in Punjab, Ambala in Haryana, Haridwar in Uttarakhand and Chandigarh, he added.
Singh further said that the interstate bus services are partially restored in view of the upcoming festive season and Navratri.
Bus services to other interstate cities will also be started shortly, he added.
COVID-19 guidelines will be strictly followed during the resumption of interstate bus service, the minister said.
