Shimla: A female nurse of Indira Gandhi Medical College & Hospital (IGMC) in Shimla was allegedly molested by some unidentified drunken youth while she was on duty.
The matter came to light when the nurse lodged a complaint with the local police on Thursday. The youths were reportedly in an inebriated condition when the incident took place. In her complaint to the police, she stated that late Wednesday night, she was coming out of the Covid-19 ward and entered the staff room.
While on the way to the staff room, some unidentified youth started following her. Initially, she avoided him, but they didn't budge and continued to follow her also passing lewd comments. When she tried to stop them, one of them held her hand and molested her.
She then raised an alarm and other staff chased and caught one of them. They allegedly thrashed him and informed the police about the incident.
Meanwhile, CSO of IGMC, Bhim Singh Guleria said that the hospital administration has also filed a complaint regarding the same with the police station and police have launched a manhunt to nab the other accused.
