New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested an absconding associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who was involved in the terrorist gangster-drug smugglers' network. The accused, Yudhvir Singh alias Sadhu, a resident of Fatehabad in Haryana was an associate of Bishnoi and he was evading arrest for the past several days. He was arrested on Friday from Haryana.
Investigation revealed that Yudhvir used to smuggle weapons from across the border for use by dreaded gangsters and criminals in various parts of the country. "On the directions of Lawrence Bishnoi and syndicate members, Yudhvir also used to harbour associates of criminal gang members and accused persons tasked with committing various kinds of crimes, including murder and extortion," the investigation revealed.

In the instant case in which Yudhvir has been arrested, NIA had earlier charge-sheeted 14 accused on March 24, 2023, under various sections of IPC, Arms Act and UA (P) Act. "The case pertains to a conspiracy hatched by members of criminal syndicate and gang based in India and abroad, to raise funds, and recruit youths to carry out terrorist activities in Delhi and other parts of the country," the NIA investigation said.

The terror conspiracies were being hatched in jails of different states and were being executed by an organised network of operatives based abroad, the agency said.
