Farmer who sustained head injuries in Karnal lathicharge dies of heart attack

An important meeting of the BJP's state executive in Karnal faced the wrath of protesting farmers. To control the crowd, Haryana Police lathicharged the farmers. At the same time, farmers retaliated with stone-pelting. In this face-off between police and farmers, four farmers and 10 policemen were injured. One of the injured farmers died on Sunday. The name of the deceased farmer is Sushil Kajal.

Karnal (Haryana): An important meeting of the BJP's state executive in Karnal faced the wrath of protesting farmers. To control the crowd, Haryana Police lathi-charged the farmers. At the same time, farmers retaliated with stone-pelting. In this face-off between police and farmers, four farmers and 10 policemen were injured. One of the injured farmers died on Sunday. The name of the deceased farmer is Sushil Kajal. The farmer was a resident of Raipur Jattan village of Gharaunda in Karnal.

Gurunam Chaduni, a farmer leader, tweeted that Sushil Kajal, a farmer having land of 1.5 acres, was contributing to the farmers' movement for the last nine months. He was beaten during the police lathicharge at the Karnal toll plaza on Saturday and died due to heart failure in the night. Gurunam Chaduni further wrote that the farming community will always be grateful for his sacrifice.

Rakesh Bains, the spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Chadhuni Group, said that one of our farmer brothers, who was present at the time of the lathicharge on the farmers in Karnal on Saturday died of a heart attack during the night.

While Haryana's ADGP (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk said that at 12 pm afternoon, some farmers blocked the national highway and tried to march towards Karnal city. On being stopped, some protesters pelted stones at the policemen. Police used force to disperse them. During this clash, four farmers and 10 policemen were injured.

Earlier, a meeting of the BJP state executive was being held in Karnal on Saturday regarding the upcoming civic elections. In which several leaders including Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP State President OP Dhankhar were present. The protesting farmers had already warned that they were going to oppose this program of BJP.
