Rewari: JJP candidate Tej Bahadur Yadav, who was sacked from the BSF in 2017, resigned from the party following the party's tie-up with the BJP to form the new Haryana government.

Yadav joined Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) in the presence of Dushyant Chautala last month to contest election from Karnal against Manohar Lal Khattar.

Earlier, sacked BSF trooper had sought to contest against Modi in the Varanasi parliamentary constituency as a Samajwadi Party candidate, the Election Commission rejected his nomination papers.

In a strongly-worded video to ETV Bharat, Yadav accused the JJP and said that Dushyant Chautala has betrayed the people of Haryana.

He said, "JJP's Dushyant Chautala went ahead and supported the same BJP that was thrown out of power by the people of the state. Calling JJP the B-team, he said, "two parties are the same and people should oppose them."

Former BSF jawan said that during the election in Karnal, JJP candidates voted against him. He alleged that he was not even given a political agent during rallies.

JJP, which won 10 seats in the tightly fought Haryana assembly elections, extended support to the BJP on Friday after Manohar Lal Khattar's Haryana BJP failed to cross the majority mark.

On Saturday, it was finalised that JJP's Dushyant Chautala will be Deputy CM of Haryana and Manohar Lal Khatter will be the Chief Minister of the state.

Bhartiya Janata Party has staked the claim to form the government in Haryana on Saturday.
