In the wake of increasing incidents of cybercrime in Haryana, a separate Cyber Cell is formed by the Haryana government.

Panchkula: Haryana has recently reported a spurt in cases of cybercrime in the state. To prevent the cyberattack, the Haryana government has approved the opening of six new cybercrime stations in the state.

Governments are taking steps to curb cybercrime, but India still does not have effective mechanisms to deal with cyber attacks. In the present-day era of online banking and digital transactions, cybercriminals have become more active.

He says,'' If someone is a victim of cyberattacks they should seek the help of the police immediately. Special Cyber Cell has been formed to tackle cybercrime in Haryana. From common people to big companies everybody is a victim of this menace.''

What is Cyber Crime?

When a person sitting online commits crimes with the help of any electronic device in sending out financial threats or criminal stalking, it comes under the purview of Cybercrime.

Causing online Harm - These offences include cyber harassment and cyberstalking, child pornography, credit card fraud, human trafficking and online defamation.

Leaking Information - In this category of cybercrime, leaking of malicious, defamatory or illegal information against any person or group online is considered a cybercrime.

Stealing Information - Removing personal information from anyone's computer, such as stealing a user's picture, his personal file or stealing the user's name and password from any account of a user.

Fake bank calls - Cybercriminals ask bank OTP or ATM number Aadhaar numbers by making fake emails, messages or phone calls. Apart from this, DCP Mohit Handa informed during this conversation, that the police have to work on two aspects; which includes Prevention of Crime and Detection of Crime. The police are trying to prepare the police department first and then along with it, the public should be made aware and alert so that the people themselves are vigilant and avoid being a victim of such crimes.

The first Cyber station of the state of Haryana was opened in DLF Phase-5 of Gurugram. High tech station, millions of rupees have been spent on installation of supercomputers which have been powered with the latest hi-tech software, helping the police to solve cybercrimes.

Recently, the Haryana government has approved the opening of 6 new cybercrime stations in the state. An amount of more than 14 crores has been allocated.

How does Haryana's cyber cell work?

Due to Spike in Cybercrime cases in the state, the Haryana Police has been working as per the old system established since the British era, is also getting hi-tech. The Haryana government has set up separate cyber police stations to deal with cybercriminals.

High tech systems and separate forensic labs are installed, deploying various experts. These experts keep an eye on the activities of internet criminals all the time.

E-Das Forensic Work Station - This is a work station portal. After connecting the mobile, laptop server to the work station, information can be obtained in minutes. With its help, the police can arrest the real accused in the company instead of arresting all the people under the IT Act case.

With the help of this software, any number can be checked.

Bell Software - With the help of Bell Software, the police can procure the deleted data from the hard disk.

Mobile Oxygen Software - Mobile data can be extracted with the help of Mobile Oxygen Software.
