In an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat, Ruchika said," In every girl’s life wedding is an important event but marriage can be completed at any time. At this time my country needs my contribution. I am working between corona patients and would have to be quarantined for at least a fortnight prior to my marriage. In such a condition it is better to serve corona patients rather than being quarantined at home."

Ruchika also said that her family had tried to explain to her that a private marriage with 3-4 people can be done, but now her parents too completely agree with her decision. Ruchika's fiancée is also supporting her decision. Her fiancée too is now agreeable to the proposition of marrying after the corona crisis.

Ruchika’s sister is a doctor, employed at PGI hospital in Chandigarh. As both are wholeheartedly devoted to emergency services, everyone is happy to see such a strong “social responsibility and professional commitment”.
