Surat (Gujarat): In a bid to provide seamless connectivity to the commuters, Indian Railways has decided to transform 'Surat Railway Station' of the Western Railways into a multi-modal transport hub.
Tenders for the makeover, which is expected to cost Rs 1173 crore, have been floated for the project and the bids would be opened on August 14.
As it would facilitate the movement of the passengers, the railway station will have bus terminals, metro rail connectivity and autorickshaw stands.
The project will reportedly be built over 3.4 lakh square metre of land.
