Daman: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the first medical college in the union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on Tuesday, sources said. The PM will inauguarte the Namo Medical College at Silvassa town which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 260 crore on 13 acres of land.
On the occasion, PM Modi will address more than 50000 people at the venue for which preparations are being finalized by the administration. Besides the medical college at Silvassa, Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to inaugurate developmental projects worth Rs 5000 crore in the Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu.
Silvassa Deputy Collector Charmi Parekh informed that PM Modi will arrive in Silvassa by helicopter on Apr. 25 at around 4 pm. After landing here on the helipad, he will inaugurate the Namo Medical College in the town named after him. After inaugurating the medical college, the Prime Minister will address the public in the assembly pavilion prepared nearby, Deputy Collector Charmi Parekh said.

He further informed that a total of 65,000 chairs have been arranged in the pavillion area for the public expected to attend PM Modi's event. Apart from the seating arrangements, fans, air-coolers, foggers have also been arranged for the public in view of the heat wave. Besides, parking lots have been fixed around the assembly building to facilitate the visitors.
Electric buses have also been arranged for the visitors even as mobile toilets have been arranged for the people. Apart from inaugurating Namo Medical at Selwas Maidan, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of 96 projects worth more than 4850 crores and dedicate the completed projects to the nation. These projects include beautification, strengthening and widening of various roads in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, government schools at Morkhal, Kherdi, Sindoni and Masat in Dadra and Nagar Haveli districts.
Special arrangements have been made for the security of PM Modi. A convoy comprising police staff, commando staff, BSF jawans from Maharashtra, Gujarat has been deployed besides local police administration.
