New Delhi: Women and Child Development Ministry and Skill Development ministry signed a MoU for imparting skills to women to improve their livelihood.
Union Minister for WCD Ministry, Maneka Gandhi said that the new initiatives will help women in getting employement and generate income.
The Rashtriya Mahila Kosh would identify the skill sets of women, also the importance of it geographically so that it enhances their capability of livelihood. Modules will be developed by the Kosh and National Skill Qualifications Framework.
The skills would be imparted under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna and details of trained skilled women will be provided to the WCD. The training partners would also be approved under PMKVY.
Union Minister for Skill Development Ministry said that the two ministries will cooperate "to bring immediate benefit to the Women."
