New Delhi: Ever since their arrangement lapsed on February 28, contract teachers working in government schools across New Delhi have launched a protest demanding the implementation of '60-year-policy'.

They have been on a demonstration outside the BJP's State office for the past 21 days and their students have expressed support to the protest, by taking to the streets.

The absence of teachers caused a lot of inconvenience to the students, especially during the time of examinations. They could not perform well as many of their doubts remained unclarified.

One student claimed that even group studies proved ineffective as there was no one to guide them. Others wished for their immediate return.

Some students even boycotted the Holi celebration as a mark of protest and remarked that there was no point of enjoying the festive season when their teachers were protesting on the streets.

Even after a period of 21 days, no governmental action has been taken neither by the central or the state government. Contract teachers now are only hoping for their student's voice to reach the government for their restoration.
