Restaurants start business in Delhi with some restrictions

Most of the restaurants of the national capital have started working once again after Delhi government allowed them to function with some restrictions. People now can take away their favourite food or get it delivered at home but can't dine at the facility itself.

New Delhi: After Arvind Kejriwal government in the national capital allowed restaurants to open with certain restrictions in view of coronavirus disease, most of the eateries have started functioning while following the norms specified by the administration.

An ETV Bharat team visited a restaurant in Greater Kailash, Part 2 area in the city to see how are they doing their business in the changed atmosphere.

It was found out that the eateries, as have been advised, are offering only the 'Take Away' and 'Home Delivery' services and system of dining in the facility itself has been done away with, for a while.

Also, all necessary care is being taken to avoid any possible infection of the contagious disease, which has killed lakhs of people across the world.

Anyone approaching the restaurant would get his or her feet sanitized by a person deployed at the entrance. Once the customer reaches the counter, his/her name, address and other details would be noted down. Social distancing would be kept while taking the order. Similarly, delivery persons would follow all established norms and get their temperature checked every two hours besides sanitizing their delivery box at regular intervals.

The decision to open up the restaurants and eateries was taken after the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) met finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman to seek policy and liquidity support last week.
