New Delhi: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man in the Delhi Chalo Park behind the Red Fort, police said on Tuesday. The accused has been arrested.
"The woman is from West Bengal. She came to Delhi six months ago in search of a job. However, she could not find a job and started living on the footpath near the Red Fort", police said.
Currently, the victim is admitted to a hospital and her condition is said to be stable.
According to information available, the police prepared a sketch of the accused on the basis of the details provided by the victim. It is with the help of this sketch the accused was identified and later arrested.
The accused has been charged under relevant sections of the IPC and he will be produced in the court today.
