New Delhi: After a Jamia student getting injured on Thursday amidst anti CAA protests, Jamia Alumni Association President Shifa ur Rehman said that this is the result of the inflammatory speech given by BJP leaders. Describing the entire matter as a well-planned conspiracy, Rehman has complained to the police against BJP leaders for giving out provocative speeches ahead of Delhi elections. He alleged that the cops remained mute spectator, watching the entire event unfold in front of their eyes.
Condemning the attack on the student of Jamia, Rehman has accused the police of being biased and said that when the protestors marched towards the gunman, then the cops came into action. When asked about the gunman being honoured by Hindu Mahasabha, he said that this clearly shows that where our country is heading towards.

''We have lodged a police complaint against the person who had fired. We have also complained against Union Minister Anurag Thakur, BJP MP Pravesh Verma and ruling party's Model Town candidate Kapil Mishra. Jamia community will make sure that the culprits of this incident should get severe punishment,'' said the Associate President.
Tension spiralled in Jamia Nagar on Thursday after a man fired a pistol at a group of anti-CAA protesters, injuring a Jamia Millia Islamia student, before walking away while waving the firearm above his head and shouting "Yeh lo aazadi" amid heavy police presence in the area.
''This incident is a result of the inflammatory speeches given by the BJP leaders about the ongoing protests against CAA and NRC. The students of Jamia follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, but these BJP leaders talk about honouring the attacker and are supporters of Godse,'' he said.
This attack was done to stop the protest and deviate the protesters under a well-thought conspiracy but it is not going to stop. This demonstration will continue until the CAA and NRC are withdrawn. In view of this incident, there are plans to install CCTV cameras at the precautionary venue and volunteers will be made more vigilant so that such incidents will not happen in future.
