MHRD launches Smart India Hackathon - 2019

The Minister of Human Resource Development launched the Smart India Hackathon - 2019 in Delhi.Chairman AICTE Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe was also present on the occasion and he also expressed his views on the success of MHRD's initiative.

New Delhi: The Minister of Human Resource Development launched the Smart India Hackathon - 2019 today in Delhi. This is the third edition of Smart India Hackathon and aims to identify new and disruptive digital technology innovations for solving the challenges faced by our country.

This will be a digital product development competition, where problems are posed to technology students for innovative solutions.

"This year the event will be bigger as compared to the 2018 Hackathon. Last year the SIH received around 17400 entries but this time, entries from more than 2 lakh students have already been received" said R Subrahmanyam while addressing the media.

Chairman AICTE Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe was also present on the occasion and he also expressed his views on the success of MHRD's initiative.

"This is a phenomenal exercise practised nowhere in the world with such large participation. People from other countries are now visiting AICTE office and asking how we can jointly hold such a program with all other countries" said Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe.
