New Delhi: There was panic at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday after a bomb threat alert was raised which later turned out to be a hoax. The call about a bomb on a Delhi-Patna flight was made from inside the plane by a passenger who was later arrested.
According to police, the caller was identified as Akashdeep, a mentally challenged traveler from Bihar. He was traveling with his father and made the call at 7:25 am after he became nervous about traveling on a plane. During interrogation, it was revealed that Akashdeep was under treatment in Bihar. Rajiv Ranjan, an airport official said that all the passengers on the Delhi-Patna flight were shifted to another flight and a search of the plane was conducted.
